Hello Doctor, what are you doing in the children's vegetable garden?
We're delighted to welcome pupils from the 2 Grosbreuil schools to our vegetable garden.
It's dedicated to them, and for them it's a fun and educational experience.
It does, however, require a minimum of maintenance...
- Weeds need to be eliminated. They compete with garden plants for nutrients and water.
- Plants can become overgrown and invasive if they are not pruned regularly.
- Teachers can then give their pupils simple and easy tasks, such as planting seeds or watering plants. In this way, they play an active part in the experiment.
- Children are made more aware of nature, encouraged to observe insects and animals in the garden and explained how they contribute to the growth of plants.
They will then have the pleasure of tasting the fruit and vegetables they have grown!
And I'm delighted that these children from Grosbreuil schools will be able to discover what life is like in a vegetable garden.
