For a practical demonstration, we invite you to follow the example of Nicole and Joseph, the first members of our association to use the manual screening machine.
Here are the steps to follow, based on their experience:
-
Loading compost onto the deck: Joseph, under the watchful eye of Jean-Luc, the machine's Dad, recommends starting by loading a moderate quantity of compost onto the screen deck. He also advises spreading the compost evenly to ensure effective sieving.

-
Sifting with the broom: If you watch Joseph, you'll see that he uses smooth, even strokes with the broom to sift the compost. Jean-Luc stresses the importance of not exerting excessive pressure so as not to block the sifter grid.

-
Collecting the product: Once you've finished sieving, follow Nicole's example and carefully collect the sieved product under the apron. She recommends using a practical container to collect the sieved compost, which will make it easier to use later in the garden.

By following these common-sense tips, you'll be able to get the most out of your hand screener and make an effective contribution to the composting process.
We would like to thank Nicole, Joseph and Jean-Luc for their commitment and willingness to share their experience for the benefit of all the members of our association.
